The human mind has a prominent role in my artistry.

Stina-M Velten Edfeldt

Stina is a Norwegian figurative sculptor, working in Stockholm. She holds an BFA from KHiO, Art Academy of Oslo and continued her education at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Her works have been on display in Sweden, Norway and the US.

Recurring themes in my work are wonder and sorrow, mixed with the will and power to create change.

A portrait is created – four stages in the work.

Stina has a unique ability to bring out the personality in the portraits. It gives a feeling of understanding and getting to know the person portrayed. The portrait develops through a working process where each stage can be the end point or a step on the way to the perfect portrait that is experienced as alive.
